PBIS & ClassDOJO

Be Respectful. Organized. A Problem Solver. Responsible. Safe

Roosevelt has five school-wide behavioral expectations that are referred to as the “Give Me Five.”  As an ode to Roosevelt’s bear mascot, these five behavioral expectations create the acronym ROARS, which stands for the following:

These behavioral expectations pertain to every location within the school building.  The purpose of these behavioral expectations is to create a culture within Roosevelt in which the Give Me Five expectations are valued and demonstrated by all members of the school community.  Thus, the Give Me Five expectations not only apply to all students in the building, but also, adults as well. On a daily basis, students that demonstrate our Give Me Give expectations will earn ClassDOJO points. On a monthly basis, students will have an opportunity to cash in their points to participate in various monthly events and/or shop at the school store.

Roosevelt Family, I want to tell you about a behavior tool we use at Roosevelt called ClassDOJO. It’s a website that allows teachers to give students immediate feedback when meeting our school wide expectations. Specifically, students earn points for being respectful, responsible, safe, organized and a problem solver. Students also earn points for being on time and in uniform, every day!

One of the great features of Class Dojo is that it allows us to maintain consistent contact with one another.  If you need to get in touch with Roosevelt staff, simply send a message over the platform and we’ll respond as soon as possible. You can also see your child’s point totals and help us encourage adherence with our PBIS expectations. At the end of each month, students with enough points will be able to attend our monthly incentive and shop at the school store. Information for our monthly event, as well as school-wide updates, will be posted on ClassDOJO so please be sure to check it daily.

Forms will be sent home so we can get your email address and phone number in order to send an invite. However, beforehand,  you’ll need to download the app and confirm your account. Watch this clip to learn how to download ClassDOJO on your electronic device.
